LONDON, UK: City of London Police have gone live with functionality within Niche Technology’s Records Management System: NicheRMS.
Niche Technology will supply the City of London Police with the technology necessary to seamlessly manage all aspects of Crime Recording, Investigation, Intelligence Management, Vulnerability Management, Custody and Detainee Management and Electronic Case Preparation. The solution will be integrated with the force’s mobile platform, and will drive greater levels of business benefits through the integration of operational applications.
The Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) NicheRMS system was recognised by the City of London Police for its integration and data-sharing capabilities. As the force embarks on an organisational-wide transformation project, one of the key deliverables is to simplify the technical estate by eliminating siloed systems to reduce the overall cost of ownership.
The single, integrated system is integrated with the East Midlands 5-Force Joint Collaboration, allowing data to be queried and shared, to combat cross-border criminality. Information will be effectively mobilised to operational officers in real time, allowing officers to make informed decisions when responding to an operational incident.
As intelligence is developed within the City of London Police, NicheRMS will provide a unique environment allowing data to be exchanged with other forces. The significant reduction in data duplication will provide a greater level of transparency across the organisations as data becomes more accessible to all officers. This will enable officers to make decisions with clarity around known information, and help the City of London Police continue their mission of delivering an exceptional policing service.
“NicheRMS has been tried and tested with several other forces in the UK, and we’re excited the software will be supporting our officers,” said T/Commander Dave McGinley, the City of London Senior Responsible Officer for the NicheRMS implementation. “NicheRMS will give us the ability to search and share information across UK forces, enabling us to keep providing a quality service.”
The City of London Police adhere to the principles of Accountability, Fairness, Honesty, Integrity, Leadership, Objectivity, Openness, Respect, and Selflessness in every aspect of their policing duties. NicheRMS will help them accomplish their mission to “ensure that the public can have confidence in the integrity of the data used and published by us; we will make sure that all crime is recorded ethically and in accordance with all current guidance.”
